I’m excited to feature this lovely Longreach family on the blog! Although they are not locals quite yet, their passion for the area is refreshing.
Natalie organised the shoot to take place at Camden Park, just outside of Longreach, and what an awesome afternoon we had. A big thanks to James and Manny Walker for allowing us to wander around the paddock and sheds.
As with most of my family photos that I have taken in the paddock over the last few months, we had to embrace the effects of the drought. In saying that, it is what it is, so to capture the land like this, is also capturing that moment in time. I am the eternal believer that there is beauty all around whatever the season. When we first drove out in the paddock and I spotted the two trees perfectly set on each side of the road, I had found my snippet of beauty.
As with all shoots with younger kids, it is a case of go with the flow. I really just let them be themselves and that is when the snippets of magic happen. No two shoots are ever the same, some kids just want to be with mum and dad, some want to explore, some love the whole experience….and some don’t 🙂 These two were awesome.
Yep, you can say it was an afternoon well spent in the wide open spaces of Outback Queensland.
